Mazandaran Province

Mazandaran Province extends across northern Iran with varied terrain including coastal lowlands, dense forests, and mountain ranges rising up to snow-capped peaks.

The province gained prominence during the Sassanid Empire from 224 to 651 CE, when Sari emerged as a strategic administrative center in the region.

The regional population communicates in Mazandarani language alongside Persian, maintaining traditional music forms and agricultural practices through generations.

Mazandaran connects to Tehran through railways and highways, while Dasht-e Naz International Airport in Sari provides air transportation for the entire region.

The province produces 50 percent of Iran's rice crop and contains more than 800 kilometers of Caspian Sea coastline with numerous natural harbors.
