Casma Province

This coastal province extends over 2,262 square kilometers, encompassing four districts with Casma city serving as its administrative center.

The population of Casma Province has grown steadily from 35,380 residents in 1993 to 50,989 inhabitants according to the 2017 census.

Spanish remains the primary language for 85 percent of the population, while Quechua maintains a presence with 13 percent of native speakers.

The province connects to neighboring territories through a network of roads, facilitating transportation between Huaraz, Huarmey, Santa, and Yungay provinces.

Local artisans continue their traditional craft production, creating textiles and pottery that reflect the techniques of their ancestors.
