Teotón

Teotón is an archaeological complex built on an elevated hill in Puebla with stone structures and remains from indigenous civilizations. The ruins show different chambers and areas that once served specific purposes for the people who lived there.

The site was inhabited across multiple periods of pre-Hispanic times, with layers revealing how communities evolved over centuries. Each layer shows how people adapted and built upon what earlier generations had established.

The hilltop is reachable on foot, though some paths are steep and require sturdy hiking shoes. It is better to arrive early in the morning to avoid heat and explore the ruins with better visibility.

Researchers have found that buildings here were deliberately aligned with stars and sky events in mind. This alignment shows that ancient inhabitants had sophisticated knowledge about tracking time through the heavens.
