Wahclella Falls, Waterfall in Columbia River Gorge, Oregon, US
Two drops of 48 and 79 feet cascade down basalt cliffs, forming a 127-foot waterfall fed by the flowing waters of Tanner Creek.
The Mazamas organization officially named the waterfall in 1915, though the United States Geological Survey maintains Tanner Creek Falls as an alternative designation.
Native American tribes of the Columbia River Gorge utilized the surrounding area for sustenance and trading activities before European settlement.
The waterfall requires a 0.9-mile hike along a maintained trail from Interstate 84 Bonneville Dam exit, with parking available at the trailhead.
Seasonal tributaries create additional water features between the two tiers, producing a natural water display that changes throughout the year.
