Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge, Steel railway bridge in Nanjing, China.
The Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge is a railway bridge spanning the Yangtze near Nanjing with six parallel tracks stretching about 15 kilometers overall. The two main arches each measure 336 meters and carry trains across the water through a large steel structure.
Construction of this bridge started in 2006 and finished in 2010, marking an important milestone in China's railway network. The structure earned international recognition in 2012 for its engineering achievement.
The bridge represents the evolution of Chinese infrastructure development, combining engineering expertise with the requirements of modern railway transportation.
The bridge carries two high-speed railway lines where trains reach speeds up to 350 kilometers per hour. Visitors can view the structure from nearby vantage points or cross it while traveling by train.
The construction used about 80,000 tons of steel and employed a specialized WNQ570 steel alloy developed specifically for this project. This high-performance material was created through collaboration between major Chinese steel manufacturers.
