Chegongzhuang, Transit hub in Xicheng District, Beijing, China
Chegongzhuang is a subway station located at the intersection of West 2nd Ring Road and Chegongzhuang Avenue in Xicheng. The station serves two subway lines with four platforms and connects to five different numbered exits throughout the surrounding area.
The station first opened in 1984 as part of Line 2 and received a second major expansion in 2012 when Line 6 arrived. These two phases of development transformed the location into a significant multiline transfer point.
The neighborhood connects residents to multiple green spaces, including Guanyuan Park, Beijing Zoo, and Zengguanglu Leisure Square for outdoor activities.
The station has five clearly marked exits that make it easy to navigate to different parts of the neighborhood. Exits C and H provide wheelchair accessibility and other facilities for passengers with mobility needs.
Plans are underway to make this station the southern terminus of a new Line 13A extension with construction starting in 2024. This project will create a significant new transit corridor connecting to the north side of the city.
