Bükk National Park

The mountainous terrain of Bükk National Park contains limestone peaks reaching over 800 meters, deep gorges, and extensive cave networks throughout its 43,169 hectares.

The area features numerous archaeological sites from prehistoric times, including cave dwellings, medieval fortifications, and monastery ruins scattered across the landscape.

The park administration oversees multiple protected landscapes, including the Hollókő World Heritage Site and the cross-border Novohrad-Nógrád Geopark containing significant geological formations.

Visitors can access hiking trails, educational centers, and guided tours throughout the park, with the main administrative center located in the city of Eger.

The International Dark Sky Park designation recognizes the minimal light pollution in Bükk, making it an excellent location for astronomical observations and stargazing.
