Bandlaguda Jagir, a city in the Gandipet mandala of the Rangareddy district
Bandlaguda Jagir is a rapidly growing village in Ranga Reddy district in Telangana, located about 8 kilometers from Mehdipatnam and now part of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority. The area combines old temples such as Vinayaka Temple with new housing projects like Maple Town Villas and PBEL City, alongside local shopping areas like Suncity and green spaces in the military zone that add fresh air to the neighborhood.
The village evolved from a small settlement into a larger area after joining the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority. As development proceeded, old temples like Kali Mandir remained community centers while new infrastructure such as the expanded road from Bandlaguda X Roads to Kismatpur reflected the area's modern transformation and growing connectivity to Hyderabad.
Residents speak Telugu as their main language, with Hindi and English heard in schools and shops throughout the area. The community gathers at temples like Kali Mandir and Mahankali Temple, as well as mosques including Jama Masjid, especially during festivals such as Diwali, Sankranti, and Eid when families celebrate together with traditional prayers.
The area sits near the Nampally metro station connection and is easily accessible via the Outer Ring Road, with the airport about 20 kilometers away. Visitors should know that local buses run regularly from Mehdipatnam to stops like Shamshabad, and that shops, banks, and community centers are within walking distance for daily errands.
The area is shaped by two major lakes, Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar, which provide water supply while keeping the surrounding landscape green and livable. Nearby sits the Mrugavani National Park covering around 700 acres, where visitors can encounter diverse wildlife and plant life in natural settings.
