North Gyeongsang

The province covers 19,026 square kilometers of land between the Taebaek Mountains in the east and Sobaek Mountains in the west.

The region served as the center of the Silla Kingdom from 57 BCE to 935 CE, with numerous archaeological sites remaining in Gyeongju, the former capital.

North Gyeongsang houses twenty percent of South Korea's registered cultural properties, including the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Bulguk Temple and Seokguram Grotto.

The region contains ten cities and thirteen counties, with Andong serving as the provincial capital and Pohang functioning as a major industrial center.

The Nakdong River flows through the province, creating fertile valleys where farmers cultivate apples, considered the signature agricultural product of the region.
