Kufstein District

The Kufstein District spans 969 square kilometers across the lower Tyrolean Inn valley, encompassing mountain ranges including the Brandenberg Alps, Kitzbühel Alps, and Kaisergebirge.

The district's population has grown steadily from 27,032 residents in 1869 to over 101,321 in 2012, marking significant regional development in western Austria.

The district comprises thirty municipalities, including three principal towns - Kufstein, Rattenberg, and Wörgl - each contributing to the region's administrative structure.

The district connects to Bavaria through its northern border and maintains strong transportation links via the A12 motorway and the Kufstein railway station.

Five lakes mark the district's landscape: the Reintal lakes, Thiersee, Hechtsee, Hintersteiner See, and Walchsee, creating numerous water recreation opportunities.
