Saarpfalz-Kreis is an administrative district in southeastern Saarland comprising seven municipalities. The area includes Homburg, which serves as its administrative center, along with Bexbach, Blieskastel, Gersheim, Kirkel, Mandelbachtal, and Sankt Ingbert.
The district was created in 1974 by merging the former Sankt Ingbert and Homburg districts. This reorganization resulted from significant territorial changes that followed World War I.
The region maintains international connections through its partnership with Henrico County, Virginia, established in 1997, promoting cultural exchanges between Germany and the United States.
The seven municipalities are connected through road and rail networks that allow easy movement between locations. Visitors can travel between these places conveniently, as the infrastructure supports good connectivity throughout the area.
