Playa Puerto Angelito

Playa Puerto Angelito is a beach in San Pedro Mixtepec with white sand and turquoise waters sheltered by surrounding cliffs and green vegetation. The shoreline spans about 120 meters and forms a protected cove where the water stays calm and clear.

This location grew from a traditional fishing settlement established by local boatmen who passed their maritime skills through generations. Fishing continues to be a central activity here today.

Local restaurants at the western end serve regional seafood dishes made with fish caught by fishermen who launch their boats from this beach daily. The food reflects the maritime traditions that have shaped daily life here for generations.

The beach is reachable by taxi in just a few minutes from the town center, and water taxis offer regular services to nearby beaches. Morning visits work best when the water is calmest and fishing boats are active.

From December through March, visitors can spot migrating humpback whales in the waters here during their annual journey along the coast. This is one of the best spots in the area to watch these animals pass through.
