The beach area developed from a traditional fishing settlement, where local fishermen continue their generations-old maritime practices to this day.
Local restaurants at the western end prepare regional seafood specialties using fresh catches from fishermen who launch their boats daily from this beach.
Visitors can reach the beach within 5 minutes by taxi from El Adoquin, with water taxis operating regular services to Playa Principal.
Between December and March, the waters near Puerto Angelito become a passage for migrating humpback whales, visible from the shore.
