Parque Nacional Huatulco, Nature reserve in Santa María Huatulco, Mexico

The protected area spans across 11,890 hectares, including coastal lagoons, estuaries, freshwater lakes, rivers, and marine environments along the Pacific coast.

The Mexican government established Parque Nacional Huatulco on July 24, 1998, under President Ernesto Zedillo's administration to protect indigenous ecosystems.

Local communities maintain traditional practices within the park boundaries, engaging in regulated fishing, hunting, and plant collection activities following established protocols.
