Mermejita, Beach in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Mermejita beach stretches along the Pacific coast with pale sand and clear waters, bordered by Punta Cometa on the east and Punta Ventanilla on the west.
The beach remained completely uninhabited until recent years when individuals began constructing houses using local materials in response to its natural appeal.
The beach represents one of only two locations in Oaxaca where endangered leatherback turtles continue their ancient tradition of nesting along the shoreline.
Visitors can access Mermejita beach from the nearby town of San Pedro Pochutla, with the eastern end offering excellent viewpoints for marine wildlife observation.
A natural rock formation known as Ventana stands at the western end, while Toron Rock at the eastern end permits observation of whales, dolphins, and orcas.
