Playa San Agustinillo, Pacific coast beach in Oaxaca, Mexico.
San Agustinillo extends along three connected bays with golden sand beaches, surrounded by the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains meeting the Pacific Ocean.
The village transformed from a turtle fishing community into a tourism destination after 1990, when Mexico established protection laws for marine species.
Local fishermen maintain traditional fishing practices, departing early morning in small boats and selling fresh catches directly to restaurants and visitors.
The beach divides into three sections: western Playa Rinconcito for swimming, central area for sunbathing, and eastern Playa Aragon for experienced surfers.
From December through March, visitors can observe whales and dolphins from the shore or participate in guided boat tours with local fishermen.
