Al-Qādisiyyah Governorate

Al-Qādisiyyah is an administrative province in southern Iraq that combines urban centers with extensive agricultural areas. The region spans across Mesopotamian terrain with a mix of river plains and settlements.

The province takes its name from the Battle of al-Qādisiyyah in 636, a decisive victory of Arab-Muslim forces against the Sassanid Empire. This pivotal event shaped the region's historical identity and significance.
