Movie Magic Special Effects Show, Film effects demonstration at Warner Bros Movie World in Gold Coast, Australia
Movie Magic Special Effects Show was a live demonstration of film production techniques held in a dedicated soundstage building at the Warner Bros. Movie World complex. The show was divided into three specialized rooms where different aspects of filmmaking were displayed to visitors.
The attraction operated from June 1991 to January 2005 as part of the Warner Bros. Movie World experience on the Gold Coast. The building was later repurposed for the Superman Escape roller coaster.
Volunteer participants from the audience helped create sound effects for scenes from Lethal Weapon movies using various objects in the performance space.
Visitors entered the building from Main Street and walked through several areas showcasing different filmmaking techniques. The experience was structured as a guided tour that presented various production methods in sequence.
Selected visitors could dress as Superman and experience Chroma-Key technology firsthand, the special effects technique used in film production. This interactive element made technical film concepts understandable in an entertaining way.
