Elante Mall, Shopping center in Chandigarh, India
Elante Mall is a multi-story shopping complex in Chandigarh that houses hundreds of retail outlets, dining spots, and a cinema under one roof. The interior spreads across several floors connected by escalators and lifts, allowing visitors to move between clothing stores, electronics shops, beauty counters, and entertainment zones.
An Australian architectural firm designed the building, which was developed by an Indian corporate group and opened to the public in spring 2013. The construction brought a new type of shopping experience to the region, connecting international retail chains with local businesses.
The mall integrates local, national, and international retail experiences with 35% foreign brands, 57% national brands, and 8% local establishments.
The underground parking levels hold thousands of vehicles and are accessible via ramps from street level. Lifts and escalators connect all floors, making it possible for visitors with strollers or wheelchairs to navigate the building.
The food court zone can seat over a thousand guests at once and gathers around twenty different food stalls under high ceilings. Tables and seating groups are arranged in an open layout, allowing groups to take a break together after shopping without needing to book a specific table.
