Koldher Fort sits within the Ajintha Satmal hill range and connects to three other fortifications: Chandwad Fort, Indrai Fort, and Rajdher Fort. The structure spreads across the hilltop with rock-cut steps leading to caves that can be used for overnight stays.
The Maratha Confederacy controlled the fort from 1752 onward. This ended in 1818 when British forces took control after securing nearby military strongholds.
The fort displays defense architecture typical of Maharashtra, with rock-cut storage chambers and storehouses built directly into the stone. These structures show how people managed supplies and military operations on a hilltop settlement.
The trek starts from Rajdeherwadi village and follows a wide path to the summit, taking about two hours. Bring plenty of water since the fort lacks permanent water sources on site.
