Patancheru Assembly constituency, constituency of the Telangana legislative assembly in India
Patancheru Assembly Constituency is a political electoral district in the Sangareddy region of Telangana state, India. The area comprises several smaller administrative units called Mandals, including Patancheru, Ameenpur, Jinnaram, Gummadidala, and Ramachandrapuram.
The constituency was established in 2008 when Telangana emerged as a new state and built its own administrative structure. Since 2009, the same representative, Gudem Mahipal Reddy, has been repeatedly elected by voters.
The name Patancheru reflects the local language and settlement patterns of the region. People gather regularly at markets and temples, where they maintain their traditions through festivals and everyday community moments.
Voter turnout is usually high, with two-thirds of eligible citizens casting their ballots. Visitors can observe the active political life during campaign periods, when candidates visit communities and speak with people.
The constituency has no special reservations, meaning any candidate can stand for election regardless of background. This makes it an open and competitive electoral district where different political parties compete for voter support.
