Steel Vengeance, Wooden roller coaster in Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio

The roller coaster stretched across Cedar Point with wooden beams extending 161 feet into the sky and tracks spanning 5,427 feet in length.

Opening in May 1991, the Mean Streak held the records for both height and speed among wooden roller coasters, reaching speeds of 65 miles per hour.

The Mean Streak represented the final phase of traditional wooden coaster construction before parks shifted toward steel and hybrid designs in the 1990s.

Every train carried 28 passengers arranged in two rows, allowing the coaster to accommodate 1,600 riders per hour during its operational seasons.

The structure required 1.7 million board feet of treated Southern Yellow Pine, making it one of the largest wooden structures in the amusement industry.
