Blue Fire Megacoaster, Launched roller coaster at Europa-Park, Rust, Germany.
Blue Fire Megacoaster is a steel coaster in Rust that extends over one kilometer and offers up to four inversions. The track runs through tight curves and rises to nearly 40 meters (131 ft), with several inversions following closely after one another.
Mack Rides built the coaster as their first launch model from their own production and opened it in April 2009. The development led to further similar installations at other parks worldwide.
The name refers to an Icelandic volcanic phenomenon, while the design uses Nordic elements like rock formations and cool colors. Queue and station immerse visitors in the atmosphere of Iceland before the ride begins.
Riders should be at least 130 centimeters tall and seven years old, as the acceleration happens within a few seconds. Wait times tend to be shorter in the afternoon, while mornings are more popular.
The loop reaches a height of about 32 meters (105 ft) and ranks among the tallest on launch coasters in Europe. The twisted horseshoe roll is a rare element found on only a few coasters worldwide.
