Tiroler Wildwasserbahn, Log flume ride in Europa-Park, Rust, Germany
The Tiroler Wildwasserbahn is a water ride themed around the Austrian alpine region located in Europa-Park. The track spans 800 meters with two main drops, passing through mountain-styled landscapes and water effects.
The ride opened in 1978 and was partially enclosed in 1984 when the neighboring Alpenexpress Enzian roller coaster was installed. Following a fire in June 2023, it reopened with a redesigned outdoor setting in 2024.
The ride features a Tyrolean alpine setting with mountain scenery and regional characters visible throughout the journey. Visitors experience the culture of the Austrian highlands through the landscape design and themed elements they encounter.
Riders must be at least 100 centimeters (3 feet 3 inches) tall, and children under 8 years need adult supervision. The journey lasts about 4 minutes with water effects, so dress accordingly if you want to stay dry.
The ride features regional folklore characters and mountain dwelling creatures specific to Tyrolean legend that appear throughout the journey. These themed elements give the ride a storytelling quality that many visitors overlook while focusing on the water effects.
