Pegasus, Family roller coaster in Europa Park, Rust, Germany
Pegasus is a steel roller coaster at the Europa Park leisure park near Rust. The ride has a total length of around 400 meters, reaches maximum heights of 13 meters, and travels at speeds up to 65 kilometers per hour.
The ride opened in May 2006 and was the seventh attraction at the park. It was the first model of the YoungSTAR Coaster type, developed by manufacturer Mack Rides.
The name references the winged horse from Greek mythology, and the design draws on elements from this ancient culture. In the Greece section of the park, visitors experience this connection through the decoration and overall appearance of the ride.
The ride accepts passengers from 100 centimeters in height. With two trains of five cars each, it can transport up to 1,000 passengers per hour.
Each train displays a detailed Pegasus figure at the front that is clearly visible during the ride. The propulsion system uses a booster wheel at the start to accelerate riders into the course.
