Qalat Sikar Air Base

Qalat Sikar Air Base is a military airfield in Maysan Governorate, located in the southeastern part of Iraq. The installation contains a runway and multiple hardened aircraft shelters spread across its grounds.

The airfield served military operations during the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s when it housed fighter aircraft squadrons. Its operational role changed significantly after 2003 as the country's political and military situation shifted.

The United States Marine Corps established Camp Fenway near the base, naming it after the baseball park in Boston, Massachusetts.

The base sits roughly 240 kilometers southeast of Baghdad in a region significant for military operations. Access to the site requires appropriate permissions and arrangements beforehand.

The concrete structures of the runway and taxiways remain visible while surrounding operational buildings have deteriorated since 2003.
