X², Steel roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain, California.
This steel roller coaster in California stands 53 meters tall and follows a path of 1100 meters through several sections. The seats rotate independently from the main structure during the ride, allowing movement in different directions.
Arrow Dynamics developed this attraction as their final project before filing for bankruptcy in 2002, creating a new type of roller coaster. The installation received technical upgrades and a new name in 2008.
The transformation from X to X² in 2008 introduced modern elements including onboard audio systems and flame effects to enhance rider experience.
Riders must be at least 48 inches (122 centimeters) tall and should secure all loose items before boarding. The attraction is located in the back section of the park near the mountain terrain.
Four rails guide the trains along the course while a rack and pinion system controls the rotation of the seats. Passengers can face forward or backward during the ride depending on the position of the seats at each moment.
