Psyclone, Wooden roller coaster in Valencia, California.
Psyclone was a wooden roller coaster that twisted through the amusement park with sharp turns and a distinctive dark tunnel section. The ride featured a classic wooden structure and provided thrilling drops and speed for park visitors.
The coaster was designed by Curtis D. Summers and Dinn Corporation, opening at Six Flags Magic Mountain in 1991. It operated for over 15 years before being dismantled in 2007.
The design mirrored the layout of New York's Coney Island Cyclone, reflecting a connection between East and West Coast amusement attractions.
The ride was suitable for visitors seeking thrills, with intense moments of steep descents and rapid turns throughout the layout. The dark tunnel section provided a brief change from the bright outdoor setting.
The trains were built by Bolliger & Mabillard, a manufacturer best known for steel roller coasters. This project marked their sole venture into wooden coaster train production.
