The New Revolution, Steel roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia, California, US
The New Revolution is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Southern California, with a white track and blue steel frame. The ride runs through twisted hills and ends with a large vertical loop.
The ride opened in 1976 under the name Great American Revolution and was one of the first modern coasters in the world to feature a vertical loop. The name was later changed, but the original layout has remained largely the same.
The name connects to American independence and marks a significant moment in the nation's history through its design. Visitors can feel this historical connection while experiencing the ride.
Each train carries 20 riders split into five cars, each with two rows of two seats. The chain lift is visible from the ground, so visitors can watch the ride in action before joining the line.
The vertical loop is supported by a triangular lattice of steel tubes, a structural approach used on only 2 other roller coasters in the world. This was an early engineering solution developed specifically to handle the forces of a vertical inversion.
