Istanbul Province

Istanbul Province spans both European and Asian continents, divided by the Bosphorus Strait and encompasses 39 districts across 5,315 square kilometers.

The province transformed from its status as the Ottoman Empire's central region to become a modern administrative division after Turkey's establishment in 1923.

The province houses numerous museums, including the Topkapi Palace Museum, which displays Ottoman Empire artifacts and royal collections from multiple centuries.

The public transportation system connects all 39 districts through an integrated network of metros, buses, trams, and ferries operating across both continents.

The province contains the Princes' Islands in the Sea of Marmara, where motor vehicles are prohibited and horse-drawn carriages serve as primary transportation.
